Health and public welfare / Hygiene Promotion

SYCOP intervenes in the social life of Muzaffargarh by helping people, especially women, children, to overcome the problems generated by the neglect of the Government. The activities include Training to the Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs), Vaccination Campaigns for Polio and Awareness of primary health care, family planning, reproductive health, general and eye medical camps in the area.
There is very poor condition in health sector. SYCOP initiated free medical facilities to flood victims’ persons and families targeted areas by organizing free medical camps. In these camps awareness sessions were also conducted on different disease like, diarrhea, cholera and other seasonal diseases.

POLIO AND TETANUS CAMPAIGN:
Due to low literacy rate, the people are involved in old customs. They did not aware about the polio disease and its bad effects. They do not cooperate with health teams deputed by the government. SYCOP helped the Health Department in vaccination against Tetanus and Polio through literacy teachers, CBOs activists and youth members. An excellent campaign was built to aware the community about polio and tetanus.
Health Camps workshops on different diseases like eye, TB and Hepatitis were also organized in remote and neglected areas.

HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME WITH SHIRKAT GAH
SYCOP is working on health awareness as well as women rights in some selected communities of Muzaffargarh like Tibi Balochan Union Council Khan Pur Shumali with Shirkat Gah under the banner of CIDA-PAGE project. Training of TBAs, dialogue, sessions with male and Females, interviews and street theatres performances were main activities under this program.

WORKING ON CAPACITY BUILDING OF NGOs WITH RutgersWPF-PAKISTAN
SYCOP has signed a MoU with RutgersWPF for capacity building of NGOs on GBV and RH. SYCOP has conducted ToTs, Community Sessions, Seminars and Research Studies under this program.  
Under the banner of PGRN (Pakistan Gender based violence and Reproductive health Network) SYCOP is working for safe district approach and trying to making safe from violence 6 districts of Pakistan with the collaboration of partners in their respective districts.
